Monochrome
These shades of grey in cashmere and silk are rather luxurious, don't you think?

New Packaging for Smith's Rosebud Salve!
Well, it's about time! I'm prejudiced against rose-scented anything; I only like the minted variety and hope that it'll soon be tubed too. Anyway, Beautyhabit is offering a complimentary strawberry salve (tin) with purchase of any two Smith's products.

Halloween
What did you do for Halloween? More importantly, what did you dress up as? Please include a link if you've uploaded photos. I love costumes!

Yves Saint Laurent Interior Charms
Reminiscent of both the Fashion Plates toys of the 70's and 80's and the parasitic disease cutaneous larva migrans, YSL's Interior Charms is quite the eye-catcher!

Winter Lips
I love these whites with lush lashes and lilac lips for winter...
I prefer the opacity of Angelababy's lips. However, for everyday purposes, I suppose the sheerer version would be less cadaverish.
The Tom Ford glasses are interesting too.

sleep deprivation...
I refer to this as Goljan psychosis... Fortunately, tests have come and gone and now it's almost as though they never happened! I'm curious to know what others find most relaxing after a stressful event. What are your favorite ways to unwind?
(The 80's wallpaper and matching curtains are not mine... but oh, how they remind me of childhood!)

Kittens + Personal Inspiration
We found kittens! More photos later.
(Yeah, I know you like my 60's linoleum...)
On a personal note, I'm taking a test next week. Even though it's the most important test I'll ever take (no exaggeration) and it's only been a few weeks (and I've been unproductive), I'm burning out. And the practice tests on U-World are demoralizing!
In these desperate times, I need motivation! I'm looking to Dr. Lisa Airan for inspiration. Obviously, I don't know her... but in my mind, she embodies the concept of "work hard, play hard." She must have been such a gunner (or sniper). I need to push myself to be one too!
She's so lovely...
Blogger ban until post-test.

NARS Bridal Palette
When the NARS Bridal Palette sold out last year, I can only imagine how many broken hearts were left in its wake. Well, if you weren't lucky enough to snag one, it's miraculously back on the market! Go get it now!

I Lust After...
Ferragamo Varina Ballet Flat
I have a pathological attraction to all things mauve. The streaking and the shape are a bit frumpy--no toe cleavage! But for that color, I could overlook almost anything!

personal ie. boring
you might want to skip... (stephanie, read this)
went to chris' to pick up a review book. he had intended to give me 2 small books. then he started adding more and more... subjects that i would have never considered high-yield! not enough time! i honestly don't know how i managed to squander 5-6 weeks!
it's becoming hopeless. north korea, if you must send a missile in the near future, send it before i take my test, ok?

anyway, i feel it's pretty telling that my classmates turned to prescription drugs (legally, of course!) to combat the situation. some have recommended ambien... but i've heard bad things too. i don't know... risky either way, no?

paper flowers
i'd love to hang these all over the place... just for kicks!
Materials:
tissue paper [tons!]
24-gauge white cloth-covered floral wire
Assembly:
1. Stack eight 20-by-30-inch [seems quite small to me... go big or go home!!!] sheets of tissue. Make 1 1/2-inchwide accordion folds, creasing with each fold.
2. Fold an 18-inch piece of floral wire in half, and slip over center of folded tissue; twist. With scissors, trim ends of tissue into rounded or pointy shapes.
3. Separate layers, pulling away from center one at a time.
4. Tie a length of monofilament to floral wire for hanging.

paper pom-pom kits are available at craft stores and even on etsy (see below).
you can also make them yourself using instructions from Martha Stewart:
