paper flowers

i'd love to hang these all over the place... just for kicks!

paper pom-pom kits are available at craft stores and even on etsy (see below).
you can also make them yourself using instructions from Martha Stewart:

Materials:
tissue paper [tons!]
24-gauge white cloth-covered floral wire

Assembly:
1. Stack eight 20-by-30-inch [seems quite small to me... go big or go home!!!] sheets of tissue. Make 1 1/2-inchwide accordion folds, creasing with each fold.
2. Fold an 18-inch piece of floral wire in half, and slip over center of folded tissue; twist. With scissors, trim ends of tissue into rounded or pointy shapes.
3. Separate layers, pulling away from center one at a time.
4. Tie a length of monofilament to floral wire for hanging.

  3. I love all the gathers and layers of paper. Paper is so pretty on it's own, let alone when it's made into gorgeous flowers! Thanks for the tutorial!
